GLOBAL SPECTRUM STAFF BRINGS COMCAST CARES DAY TO OASIS SOCIAL MINISTRY

The Global Spectrum teams from the Ted Constant Convocation Center and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts volunteered at Oasis Social Ministry in Portsmouth on Monday, April 27, to take part in the 14th Annual Comcast Cares Day, a company-wide celebration of a year-round commitment to community service.  Staff members prepared and served lunch to over 120 individuals, sorted and stocked the extensive food pantry with donations received by the Ministry, and assisted in quality control and organization of the establishment’s Thrift Store. 

Global Spectrum (global-spectrum.com) manages the Ted Constant Convocation Center, as well as more than 120 other public assembly facilities around the world. Nearly 24-million people attended more than 15,000 events in Global Spectrum venues last year. Based in Philadelphia, PA, Global Spectrum is part of Comcast-Spectacor, one of the world’s largest sports and entertainment companies. Oasis Social Ministry is a private, not for profit, charitable corporation whose mission is to provide comprehensive services to the homeless and the less fortunate in Portsmouth, Western Chesapeake, and Northern Suffolk.  In 2014, Oasis served 47,000 lunches and breakfasts to needy individuals in their soup kitchen, provided 207,000 meals to the local community through their pantry program, and provided over $284,000 worth of clothing and household items to over 10,000 needy adults and children.
